Andrew is a Scottish sailor who lives by the sea in Argyll, Scotland. He has sailed the waters off the West coast of Scotland all his life.

Having made four Atlantic crossings and many trips to the Mediterranean, he has set himself the goal of sailing solo around the world.

In 2001 Andrew and his wife bought a closed, run down nursing home on the shores of Loch Long, in Scotland. After an 18-month refurbishment they opened it as an outdoor education centre for school children. They have with the own two children been running Ardmay House OEC for more than twenty years., taking children into the mountains and onto the sea, climbing and paddling.
